Orlando, FL & Miami, FL July 15, 2016—The office of Digger Cartwright issued the following statement in support of Donald Trump for President of the United States in 2016. Mr. Cartwright’s office originally released the statement at the Independence Day champagne summit organized by the independent think tank, Thinking Outside the Boxe:
“I’m pleased to make known my support for Donald Trump for President of the United States. There are many important issues facing our nation today and many challenges that we must address in the coming years. I believe Mr. Trump is the best person for the job and that his extensive and successful business background and negotiating skills will help him to confront the fiscal, economic, and international challenges that will face the next president. I am encouraged by his Make America Great Again approach and his desire to put America first. We the people have been continually ripped off and exploited by the career politicians in Washington, special interest groups, foreign politicians and interests, and big business.
Mr. Trump during the primary campaign highlighted elitism and a system rigged against we the people. Whether you love or hate Mr. Trump is not the issue. Whether you agree with all of his positions is not the issue. He represents the voices of we the people and a turn away from political elitism.
Let’s face the fact: There is only one party, working towards a common goal of self-preservation and maintaining their grip on political power. It is the party of Washington, DC. Democrats and Republicans alike are part of this party of Washington, DC. They have become the defacto elites that our Founding Fathers fought against to secure our freedom as a nation.
For the first time in decades, we have a very good chance of electing a president, Mr. Trump, who is one of us and who is not one of the political elites. To me, the choice is clear in this presidential election, and the future of our nation and our constitutional republic hangs in the balance. We can elect someone who represents the party of Washington, DC and the corruption and elitism that it stands for or we can elect a political outsider, Mr. Trump, to take on the special interest groups and the concentration of political power in the hands of the political elites.
I’m proud to support Mr. Trump in the 2016 election, and I look forward to him making America great again for all of us.”
