Positives: Obesity rates would probably go down. People might enjoy fresh air. We would enjoy being with other people rather than electronics.
Negatives: TV stations, cable and satellite companies, and the like may take a hit in their pocketbooks.

Positives: We would be more self aware. We would care more about issues in our society and the world. We would be educated in social debates, and form our own opinions rather than the opinions of the media.
Negatives: News can be emotional. Emotions can lead to unintended actions and health issues.
