What if families had dinner at the table?
Positives: We would know more about our kids. Societal values would increase. We would know more about our family’s lives. Troubled kids may be stopped from engaging in anti-societal activities.
Negatives: None.
What if teachers were paid a politicians salary?
Positives: We would be funding our future with better teachers.
Negatives: Those entering the profession may be more interested in money rather than actually teaching kids and helping them learn.
What if politicians were paid a teacher’s salary?
Positives: Could it be the end of career politicians? We would have people in politics that WANT to be rather than people going for the money.
Negatives: None.
What if books were censored for content?
Positives: Readers would not be able to obtain books with questionable content.
Negative: Creativity would be stifled. We would lose freedom of choice to read what we want to read.
What if everyone had a college education?
Positive: Society would become more educated.
Negatives: If everyone has one, a college education loses its value.
What if: there were laws requiring spay and neuter?
Positives: There would be a significant reduction in strays and unwanted animals. Shelters could better allocate resources to animals already there. There could be more demand for animals, resulting in a lower shelter occupancy.
Negatives: people may set animals loose if they cannot afford the surgery.
What if we elected an independent candidate for president?
Positives: The end of party bickering and partisanship in Washington. This could force the parties to work together more for the benefit of the people.
Negatives: Compromise could be difficult.
What if: gas rose to $6 a gallon?
Positives: We would be less reliant on fossil fuels and have less greenhouse gas emissions. More people would walk, ride bikes, car-pool or use public transportation. There would be fewer cars on the road and fewer accidents which could lower insurance premiums.
Negatives: People would not be able to travel as much for work or pleasure. The cost of living would rise beyond the threshold of minimum wage.
What if: everyone adopted a shelter pet?
Positives: We could curb the needless killing of homeless animals and lower the burden on shelters. People will be happier and healthier; studies show animals lower blood pressure and lower stress.
Negatives: None.
