Orlando, FL, Miami, FL & Washington, D.C. January 17, 2014—The office of mystery novelist Digger Cartwright has released a series of New Year’s Resolutions for Indie Authors for 2014. Mr. Cartwright has created fifteen resolutions that indie authors may make as they enter a new year and seek to further their writing endeavors. The resolutions can be found on Mr. Cartwright’s blog, www.MysteryDigger.com, website www.DiggerCartwright.com, and on his various social media outlets, including Twitter, @mysterydigger.
Mr. Cartwright issued the following statement regarding the New Year’s Resolutions:
“It’s very difficult for indie authors to balance their writing endeavors with everyday life, and it’s very easy to be swept away in a tide of writing enthusiasm and as a result other endeavors are neglected. Likewise, it’s easy to be caught up in other endeavors that are detrimental to a writing career. And most often, those around us are caught up in our hectic lifestyle. It’s easy to get lost in the world of your manuscript, so it’s crucial that writers stay focused and maintain a healthy, balanced lifestyle.
As an author I struggle with a variety of issues associated with writing, and many of my issues are shared by other authors at various stages in their careers. I hope that indie authors find the list of New Year’s Resolutions that I’ve compiled insightful, helpful and entertaining as they enter 2014.
But more importantly, I want indie authors to be inspired as they enter a new year. Indie authors have so much going for them nowadays. Never before have indie authors been presented with so many opportunities to both publish and market their manuscripts to a global audience. But with this opportunity many indie authors have become frustrated at getting lost in a much more competitive global market. There are those who will become discouraged and end their endeavors prematurely. But capitulation is not the solution. Hard work, perseverance, and dedication are the cornerstones of success in indie publishing just as in any profession or business endeavor.
Not only are there a number of resources for indie authors, but more resources are coming online. We will continue to build the National Federation of Self-Published Author Entrepreneurs in 2014 as a forum for indie authors to share their experiences. Best of luck to everyone in 2014.”
